Teddy Bear Super Heroes!!

What a wonderful day we had today in kowhai hub! We brought our teddy bears to school and then used lots of bits and pieces to create super hero costumes for them! We had bears and toys with capes and masks and super hero boots!!
We had a parade to teddy bear music to show off our bears!
We had a shared lunch together which was delicious.  The teachers were so proud of the way the kowhai kids worked together to help each other make the super hero costumes.

Kowhai Hub Poster Competition!!

Our kowhai hub had a competition to design the best kowhai poster to go in all the classrooms in kowhai hub.  Miss Morris helped us to create our kowhai art.  We watched and listened carefully to Miss Morris when she told us all about the kowhai flower.  She showed us how to draw a kowhai and then we had a go ourselves by sketching first.  Our art looked amazing when it was finished.  Mrs Potts and Mrs Hill thought they looked brilliant!!! Mrs  Hill chose some finalists to go to Mr Gifkins for the competition!!! Guess what? Leilanah's piece of kowhai art was chosen by Mr Gifkins as the WINNER!!!! Great little artist Leilanah!! Look out for her art in all the kowhai hub rooms.

Clever Shoppers!

Some clever kids in room 15 have been going shopping at the supermarket! They can read the prices on the grocery items and then they can find the right money to pay for them! They know they can make the amount in different ways! Today they wrote the number story to go with the money!!
Wow! They could go shopping for Mrs Potts!!
